Platelet Rich Plasma

PRP is blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets. As a concentrated source of autologous platelets, PRP contains (and releases through degranulation) several different growth factors and other cytokines that stimulate healing of bone and soft tissue. PRP treatments are 100% natural. They use your own blood platelets to accelerate your healing. PRP is frequently used to treat: Osteoarthritis, Chronic plantar fasciitis, ACL Injuries, Back and Neck Injuries, Tendinitis, Ligament Sprains, Pelvic Pain and Instability, Tennis Elbow, Ankle Sprains, Meniscus tears. It can also be used to treat Dermatological conditions such as: Skin rejuvenation, Skin resurfacing, Face, Neck, Chest, Hands, Post acne scars, Post traumatic scars, and Surgical scars.

Acupuncture

Dating back more than 3000 years, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), operates on the knowledge that proper physiological function depends on  the circulation of nutrients and energy called Chi (pronounced “chee”). Chi flows in a network of channels called meridians throughout the body. Acupuncture uses very thin, single use stainless steel needles to unblock Chi when it becomes congested along a meridian. Some of the most common disorders that Dr. Faye treats are allergies, addictions, sinusitis, incontinence, and pain.

Tendon Reset

A tendon is a cord or band of dense, tough, inelastic, white, fibrous tissue, serving to connect a muscle with a bone or part, and Tendon Reset is a quick and easy manual technique to get the tendon back in place.

Craniosacral

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a form of bodywork or alternative therapy using gentle touch to palpate the synarthrodial joints of the cranium. A practitioner of cranial-sacral therapy may also apply light touches to a patient's spine and pelvic bones. Practitioners believe that this palpation regulates the flow of cerebrospinal fluid and aids in "primary respiration". Craniosacral therapy was developed by John Upledger, D.O. in the 1970s, as an offshoot osteopathy in the cranial field, or cranial osteopathy, which was developed in the 1930s by William Garner Sutherland.

Auricular Acupuncture

Auricular acupuncture is the stimulation of acupuncture points on the external earsurface for the diagnosis and treatment of health conditions in other areas of the body. The ear holds a microsystem of the body, consistent with the brain map discoveries of Canadian  neuroscientist Wilder Penfield.

Naturopathic Medicine

A system of medicine that blends modern science with traditional natural  therapies to restore optimal health. Natural Medicine uses minimally invasive methods to treat disease imbalances at their root to minimize risk of harm to the individual. These methods include clinical and  laboratory diagnostic testing, nutritional medicine, botanical medicine, naturopathic physical medicine, public health measures, hygiene, counseling, homeopathy, and injection therapy.

Principles of Naturopathic Medicine

  1. The Healing Power of Nature (Vis Medicatrix Naturae): Naturopathic medicine recognizes an inherent self-healing process in people that is ordered and intelligent. Naturopathic physicians act to identify and remove obstacles to healing and recovery, and to facilitate and augment this inherent self-healing process.
  2. Identify and treat the Causes (Tolle Causam): the naturopathic physician seeks to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness rather than to merely eliminate or suppress symptoms.
  3. First Do No Harm (Primum Non Nocere): Naturopathic Physicians follow three guidelines to avoid harming the patient

  • Utilize methods and medicinal substances which minimize the risk of harmful side effects, using the least force necessary to diagnose and  treat;
  • Avoid when possible the harmful suppression of symptoms
  • Acknowledge, respect, and work with individuals’ self-healing process

  1. Doctor as Teacher (Docere): Naturopathic physicians educate their  patients and encourage self-responsibility for health. They also recognize and employ the therapeutic potential of the doctor-patient relationship.
  2. Treat the Whole Person: Naturopathic physicians treat each patient  by taking into account individual physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, and other factors. Since total health also includes spiritual health, naturopathic physicians encourage individuals to pursue their personal spiritual development.
  3. Prevention: Naturopathic physicians emphasize the prevention of disease by assessing risk factors, heredity and susceptibility to disease, and by making appropriate interventions in partnership with their patients to prevent illness.
